Zelda is one of the main characters of The Legend of Zelda series. She is the princess of Hyrule and is the keeper of the Triforce of Wisdom, a fragment of the legendary sacred relic; The Triforce. She has appeared in nearly every single game to date––the only exception being The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening where only her name is mentioned. Zelda also makes non-cannon appearances in the spin-off Hyrule Warriors and the Super Smash Bros. series, as well as various manga, comic and cartoon adaptations.
Although there is almost always a different incarnation of Zelda in each game there are certain aspects of her character which always remain the same. For one, she remains a kind and selfless woman, always putting the need of her people before her own, and believes things will work out for the best, no matter how dark things may be. She is also incredibly wise despite her young age and is very beautiful.
In addition, Zelda has the ability to use magic––more specifically Light magic. This likely has to do with her being the mortal incarnation of the goddess Hylia. Depending on the game, she is known to use telepathy, foresight (in the form of prophetic dreams), and healing magic. Sometimes she will also use a weapon such as a bow or a sword.
